Playing around with 3-digit numbers!

Look at some of our lovely maths learning from last week!

Forces investigation

On Friday afternoon we set up an investigation to see how far a car travels on different surfaces. The different surfaces were: paper, carpet, bubble wrap, plastic compound and the hall floor.

We used an elastic band to deliver the push and used a Newton meter to measure a force of 10N. We made sure that the car got the same push each time.

Testing the carpet

We had to work together and measure carefully to check how far the car went, then record our results on a white board.

Maths games

Ask me about the robot games I played today! We had to use our reasoning skills and our calculations skills! It was tricky at times!

Investigating objects and surfaces

This afternoon we have been investigating what happens when we push different objects on different surfaces. We could choose different things and decide which surfaces we wanted to test. There was lots of predicting going on and some great reasoning from Mulberry Class.

Some decided to try a slope to see what happened.

 Others built a ramp!

When we had finished, we shared our ideas about what we had learned.

Friday Forest School

One group from Mulberry class enjoyed their first forest school today. Come back soon to listen to Evie's report about it.
