Setting animal traps

We have enjoyed being out on a frosty morning again, setting traps to see if we can track some animals. We have used chocolate this time!

Stone age skills!

We have been learning some stone age skills with Mrs Good on a Tuesday afternoon. We have had great fun cave painting, rock painting and making axes, whilst learning about life in the Stone Age.

Friday forest school skills- bird feeders

We made some different kinds of bird feeders on Friday afternoon. We made apple feeders with sunflower seeds, then some pine cone feeders (which look so much more natural than the yoghurt pots!) We enjoyed working collaboratively in our groups to get them done.

Bird hunt!

This afternoon we have been out and about in the avenue and nest, trying to find 12 different garden birds in the trees! We had to work in our teams to make sure we found 12 different ones. We will be learning a lot more about birds this half term and how to identify them.

Setting tracking traps!

This morning we set up some tracking equipment during Friday Forest School skills. We have used biscuits to entice the animals and paint to try and capture their tracks. We are very excited about looking on Monday to see if any animals have visited. We wrapped up warm this morning, because it snowed!

Friday forest school skills

This morning we went outside and created some natural art and sculptures. This afternoon we went out and hung some fat ball feeders onto our adopted trees. We had a close look at our trees at this time of year, to see how they differ from in the summer. We also collected some twigs to make sorcova in the afternoon.
